This Is Dad Rap, Literally with Buffy Prescott; New Music

Buffy Prescott Rapper

Alt-rap act Buffy Prescott evolve their fresh take from 2015’s debut LP ‘PreMature’ with the follow-up/sequel ‘ImMature’.

The sound is "an idiosyncratic blend of post- punk, industrial and hiphop...with poignant and clever lyrics” (Happy Mag); like “Beastie Boys meets early Nine Inch Nails” (Blank Mag).

ImMature’s 'songs still contain personal accounts and societal critique, but this time the tales are delivered through the lens of a parent. The protagonist here is attempting to mature, for the sake of his children. The LP opens with a plea for the father to ‘Wake up!’ and the journey that follows is a re-evaluation of his relationship with everything that has been a priority pre-fatherhood - law enforcement (‘Fine’), mental health (‘Better’), music as narration (‘In/bound’, ‘Know The Score’), music as industry (‘Persistence Is Futile’), self-absorption (‘Never Said’), geek fandom (‘The Hawkeye Initiative’), love affairs (‘Gutcheck’), domestic violence (‘Yella’) and mortality (‘Heathen Mulch’).

A tour in support of the release will visit East Coast Capital cities in 2019.

Buffy Prescott enjoyed success from their first release being nominated in the Gold Coast Music Awards for Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for their single ‘The Nothing’ (an homage to ‘The Blair Witch Project’ which drew praise from Blair Witch director Eduardo Sanchez.)

This is Dad Rap. Literally. "This is the kind of rap that's hasn't been lost with the addition of unnecessary fusion of other elements; Sticking to the original rap style that we have all known and loved. This is how rap is supposed to be."
