Raid The Quarry Reach Anthem Territory with Ghost Town

Raid the Quarry

“Ghost Town” from the “Temporary Cemetery” album

If you’re looking for “amps-to-11” rock songs, with catchy choruses and guitar-driven modern alt/rock, you’re in luck, with this new album from Raid the Quarry.

With a style that combines classic rock with hardcore, blues and punk, the band from Raleigh, NC, confirms here the promises of their first EP, aligning hard-hitting tunes one after the other.

In this “Ghost Town” song (funny how this title appealed to me!), starting with a fun delayed guitar that leave way to a great grooving riff and Daniel Stidham’s powerful vocals, the band showcases its ability to draw the listener in, the guitars are scorching, the bass is growling and the drums are pounding, while the vocals, sustained up by gang background vocals, reach anthem territory.

The production is dynamic enough and the raw power of the band is well served by their sonic choices, with guitar effects kept to a minimum and the sound of natural tube distortion. All combines to make a great new album that fans of pure rock will appreciate.

Verdict: 5/5 beards
