'Music Sounds Better With You'; Duncan Saige Records in Bunnings Carpark!

Singer Duncan Saige

With festival slots, a national tour and the excellent laid-back summery single Thoughts of You Without Me already under his belt for 2019, Duncan Saige has dropped an unexpected cover with the late 90's Stardust classic Music Sounds Better with You.

Momentarily diverting away from work on his EP, the cover was casually recorded in a DIY pop-up studio in the car park of Bunnings in Malaga, Perth. A first for Duncan and Bunnings on-lookers alike!

Featuring a Tommy Emmanuel-like guitar solo and a ukulele to emulate the big octave guitar chugs in the original song, Duncan says of the choice “I’ve always loved this song. One day I sat down and tried to learn it and discovered that despite being a dance track, a solo singer-songwriter could possibly arrange and play it. When the band and I perform it live, we mash it with 'Streets of Your Town' by The Go-Betweens and 'Just The Way You Are' by Milky." Fresh off supporting Irish heavyweights Kodaline and absolute legends Lime Cordiale, Duncan Saige has unfortunately had to cancel all upcoming shows for May and June due to just breaking his collarbone (in un-heroic circumstances), but there'll be some special live announcements very soon.
