Becky Bowe
“You and Your World”
Following a successful first single, singer-songwriter Becky Bowe continues to excel with this new single that in the pop-soul vein that she does so well.
Starting with a jazzy piano quickly outlined by synth strings and subtle percussion, Becky’s soulful voice floats over that bed of nicely laid out harmonies, soon accompanied by great little guitar counterpoints, the whole song flows and convinces. It’s groovy and cool.
The lyrics speak about self-discovery and acceptance, and the uplifting message here is most welcome in these days where hate is too often the loudest voice in the room.
Although the mix is not without its faults, especially with the drums being a bit too busy and prominent during the middle part of the song, Becky’s emotive vocal is there to convince with her plea to “embrace you and your world”.
A great song from a singer-songwriter that will go far, if there’s any logic left in this music world.
Verdict: 5/5 beards
