Enigmatic visionary Ghostly Beard pens emotive prog-pop. From the vaults of his prismatic artistry he issues a clutch of Eps, albums and singles… “Papercut” is the first new single of the artist to be released in 2019 with downloads and CDs from the artist’s website and selected platforms.
Ever suffered from a paper cut? Hurts, doesn’t it? Some love stories may be as benign, yet they can hurt just as much, and this song is telling the story of one of them… Not to be taken too seriously though, just like the pop style of this song and its play on words suggests: Nothing too artsy, and you won’t bleed to death from it!
Today, February 8th, Ghostly Beard releases his first single of 2019.
The song is revisiting the jazz mood of the “Invisible” album, with a pop/rock twist and hooky chorus that is the trademark of the bearded style.
Ghostly Beard’s kaleidoscopic creativity has garnered him comparisons to such diverse artists as Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, James Taylor, Peter Gabriel, XTC, Cat Stevens, Weather Report, Michael Franks and Chicago. He crafts immersive dreamy sonic landscapes that emotionally blur the line between dark catharsis and subtle rays of hope. Now, he lets us into his universe with an eclectic clutch of thoughtfully sequenced Eps, albums and singles.
