Dandelion Charm; September

Dandelion Charm

“September” from the “Riding the Flood” EP

After a first EP that established their lush sound, full of beautiful harmonies and the characteristic chime of the 12-string acoustic guitar they affectuously call “Olah”, the Dandelion Charm up the ante with this second EP, and you will want to ride the flood and go with the flow.

From that first song, “September” starting with intricate guitar parts, and Clare and John joining with their trademark harmonies, you are invited to a world of beautiful melodies, dynamics ups and downs with bursts of drums and electric guitars that will make you jump and join in the chorus, and the subtle lyrics that although more or less cryptic in their content, can speak to us all.

The musicianship is superb, the arrangements imaginative, the sound is pristine (with a great 48khz/24bit release), and the song-writing is up there with the best, which in the case of the duo, is ranging from influences like CSN, Fleetwood Mac, Tori Amos or Yes… it can’t get better than that!

Verdict: 5/5 beards Highly recommended, a great gift for late Xmas shopping!
