Telephone Exchange and Maschinelles Lernen

Indie Band Telephone Exchange

Telephone Exchange is a music project led by Cesar Saldivar that explores the daily intricacies of modern life through unembellished and hazy soundscapes. Originally a solo recording project; Telephone Exchange is a band that comprises a wide range of sounds, from lo - fi and raw guitars, to dreamy, pristine and echoing pads. Their debut album "Maschinelles Lernen" has challenged the concept album itself in order to convey the message properly through a diverse sound and colour palette.

"Telephone Exchange shed all the pretentiousness and polished sound of many boring and bland psych bands making music. It most certainly will not be for everybody, but for those interested, this may be one of the most enjoyable releases to come out on the underground psych circuit in quite a while. Pure fun, pure experimentation, pure sound."

"Maschinelles Lernen" was recorded at Cesar's own recording facilities, "El Cochinero Recording", in Mexico City. The entire album was recorded, produced and mixed by himself almost completely in analog format, and a band is currently being set up to play some gigs in the city, around the country, and possibly, some dates will be due in the U.S. next year. The album's official release date both in Mexico and the States is Jan 5th 2019, but it is now streaming on Ongakubaka Records' Bandcamp.

RIYL: Velvet Underground / CAN / Neu! / Blank Dogs / Sonic Youth

The album will run in a limited edition on both Ongakubaka Records (US; 200 copies) and El Cochinero Records (MX; 100 copies).
