Newcastle's favourite punk/cabaret band, The Pits, have just released their debut EP "The Greatest Show on Earth", today, Oct 5th 2018 and be launching at the Lass O'Gowrie Hotel. The launch show also coincides with the online release of EP on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, and anywhere good music can be found. Recorded by Newcastle’s very own Mitta Norath at Tommirock Studios, "The Greatest Show on Earth" has the big top brimming with anthemic, cabaret beat downs.
The curtain raising title track, "The Greatest Show on Earth" starts with a warm story of hope and optimism, gradually building, layer upon layer, until the doors are kicked clean off the cabaret caravan, with a wall of crushing guitars, snarling horns and powerful drums. The uplifting beauty and terrifying beast of The Pits trades places like Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde right up until the final wallop of the closing track "Killers".
"The Greatest Show on Earth" tops off the stellar 18 months for the cocky circus punks. Since forming in 2017, The Pits' have supported alt rock giants Papa Roach, been finalists in Unisounds 2018 and received national airplay on Triple J. The 5 track EP has already had two singles released prior its launch. The third single "A Place to Hide" will be debuted through Newcastle Live on Wednesday 3rd of October 2018.
