One Step from Everywhere | Rise Above

One Step from Everywhere

“Rise Above” from the “Last Man on the Moon” EP

From Seattle, yet untouched by the grunge wave, and drawing its inspiration from seventies blues, rock, funk, and a dash of southern rock, comes One Step from Everywhere and it’s pretty obvious from that EP that these guys were not born from the last rain fall…

Truly this EP is full of groovy and rocking tunes, and a sound that is almost like you get the band live in front of you in a club, when they are rocking it! They start off strong with that funky “Rise Above”, and that tune has an infectious groove that would make the Doobie Brothers proud.

It’s all there: the syncopated rhythm guitar/drums combo, the funky bass, the lead counterpoint and a great lead vocal on top, starts and stops that makes you want to jump on the table, you will have a hard time resisting that one. Nice way to get right into the heart of it!

This EP conveys the great energy and musicianship these guys have, and I would guess this is the kind of band that kills it live, so watch out for them if they come to your town.
