Blindsided

Sharon West

This single from Sharon West is the perfect radio ready tune that could be the tune of your summer with its earworm quality and stellar production.

The genre is kind of an hybrid pop/country-rock sound, with an 80s feel, furthermore it’s probably danceable (which I confess my beard didn’t attempt!).

The song has that feel-good vibe and big chorus you would expect from a country-rock tune, and the earworm melody, steady beat and vocal perfection you’d want from a pop song.

I like how the song starts with these cool synth sounds coming right from the 80s, and when Sharon’s vocal enters, the tune quickly reaches the chorus, with big drums and huge vocals.

The production is clearly pop and wouldn’t pale in comparison to most big names around in the genre.

I especially like some the ear candies that make the song more interesting. Like the bridge with it’s four-on-the-floor kick and the awesome delays on the vocals before the pre-chorus and back to the chorus.

No doubt everything is done here to showcase Sharon’s vocal prowess, and this works perfectly and makes the song a clear hit candidate.

You will be blindsided by that song and will want to hit replay, again and again!

Verdict: 5/5 beards
