Produced by Sean O’Keefe (Plain White T’s) Still Alive is Tiernan’s first acoustic solo EP. The veteran punk rocker, whose song “The End of the World” (about a hypothetical President Schwarzenegger) garnered airplay on over one hundred radio stations worldwide circa 2009, is now shifting gears for a journey into sparse, introspective acoustic offerings. The closing song on this first acoustic EP was previously released by his award-winning acoustic-pop duo (nature airliner) and will be promoted at the Liverpool Sound City festival this May. Born in Alberta, Canada, in 1973, this Tokyo-based singer-songwriter was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome - an often-fatal genetic disorder - at the age of fourteen. Earlier that year, when he confessed to his school counsellor that he was queer, she told him it, “wasn’t acceptable in society”. The fear of an early death mixed a seemingly-unresolvable dilemma in regards to his sexuality and gender issues, led to thirteen years of suicidal tendencies. Now, in 2018, ten years after a life-saving emergency heart surgery, and now being married to someone who loves him unconditionally, Tiernan is launching a series of acoustic EP’s whose aim is to give hope to those who struggle; with the message that it does get better. Following nature airliner’s first tour of the U.K. in May of 2018 (culminating in an appearance at the Liverpool Sound City festival) Tiernan will embark on a series of solo acoustic concerts in the western United States and Canada; dates TBA. A music video for each song on the EP is in preproduction, SoundNoir.co (NY) will soon endeavour to place Tiernan’s songs in TV and movie soundtracks, FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/LaurierTiernanMusic/ REVERBNATION: http://www.reverbnation.com/LaurierTiernan
