Aly Cook | Love Is A Fool Time Job

Aly Cook Album

Announcing Aly Cook's video for 'LOVE IS A FOOL TIME JOB’ as the song shoots onto the Australian Country Tracks Chart at number #4 & the Tasmanian Charts with a bullet in its opening week. The final single from her critically acclaimed album 'HORSESHOE RODEO HOTEL’. This Rocky cross-over single has a little more Aussie Rock vibe, taking inspiration from her time living and touring in Australia in the 80’s, with some of Australia’s biggest rock bands, as a young tour coordinator working for Australian promoters. Part of her musical journey that inspires and guides her today.

‘LOVE IS A FOOL TIME JOB’ is a dedication to the hard work involved in relationships, whether in one or out of one, ,wrapped in a Rock Anthem written by GARY RIMMER, ALY COOK & ALAN JANSSON, with some stunning guitar work from Aly’s band mate from THE SOU’WESTERS, DeanHetherington.

This is a cool summer Country Rock track, a great follow-up to the 4 number #1 singles on the Australian Top 40 Country Tracks Chart, and final swan song from her eclectic collection of works on HORSESHOE RODEO HOTEL.

From the more puritan country of ‘MESSAGE IN A CLOUD’ & ‘WESTERN LINE’ to the Acoustic World Music wrapped KIMBERLEY, with its didgeridoo and Aboriginal clapping sticks, which was used in a television advert played across Australia, to the Country Punk Pop Dance number of ‘MIDNIGHT COWBOYS’, all of which attained number one positions on a number of indie charts, as well as HORSESHOE RODEO HOTEL’s stint of 6 weeks on the Official NZ Album Charts, Cook has certainly proven her ability to pull the sounds out to the extreme and very edge of the genre, always maintaining the country genre's core values with the stories at the centre and keeping her Maton guitar at the heart of every song.

ALY COOK is an award-winning artist with accolades such as New Zealand Female Country Artist of the Year, 2017 Tasmanian Independent Country Music International Artist of the Year and twice nominated NEXT Magazine New Zealand Woman of the Year for her contribution to the arts & volunteer work.

After crowdfunding a few hundred dollars, and with some Kiwi ingenuity, Aly Cook directed, filmed, and edited her own music video. The music clip for LOVE IS A FOOL TIME JOB was cleverly filmed in her bathroom … “as the walls are white, and of course bathrooms have great acoustics!”

“Love is sometimes a Fool’s game and always a Fool time Job !”
