Ana Patan | General Conspiracy

Ana Patan

“General Conspiracy” from upcoming “Spice, Gold and Tales Untold” album

Ana Patan EP

A solid groove is the foundation of a great song. It’s especially true if you’re into funk, jazz, rock or anything that moves.

The groove is what starts the song and it keeps flowing and growing relentlessly throughout. A solid bass and in the pocket drums, and there you have it. A little guitar riff to counterpoint and Ana’s sultry vocal tells you her funny tale which is about how everything conspired against her to meet a loved one on that forsaken day. The tone is clever and funny and self deprecating and it matches Ana’s vocal attitude, making it a compelling story that we cannot help empathizing with. We are all victim of this general conspiracy one day or another.

To note Ana’s guitar chops, delivering a cool little lead part during the instrumental break, with great effect and a tone and taste that is reminiscent of people like Mike Stern or John Scofield. Quite unusual and refreshing when most guitarists prefer to show off riding scales as fast as they can…

It’s time to get a taste of this new singer songwriter, wait for her upcoming album, I know I will!

Verdict: 5/5 beards
