The fourth single from DIDI, aka producer Lauren Deakin Davies, Fast and Furious, is being self released today 9th February.
It’s an up tempo track straddling the divide between her debut single 'Sorry' which was released in March 2017 and her most recent release Back Off.
DIDI has a full band gig at The Workshop in Shoreditch on 15th March. You can find more details on her website

DIDI announced her arrival on Monday 20th March 2017, with her self penned, self recorded and self released debut single ‘Sorry’ since then she has released 2 more singles 'Awkward' and 'Back Off' catching the eye and ear of a number of music blogs as well as BBC 6 music, Amazing radio, BBC Introducing track of the week, independent radio stations, newspapers and Magazines such a Diva Mag and Back Off received the highest number of votes out of 300 tracks from Fresh on the Net’s Fresh Faves!
DIDI has been in bands playing guitar and bass since she was 10 years old, so no stranger to the stage or studio. But this incarnation to DIDI (a play on words originating from an abbreviation of her surname pronounced Dee Dee) is quite different to anything she has produced in her studio (as an award winning producer).
Her live sound and stage presence has really come to life as DIDI, and she isn't going to be stopping any time soon!
'Fast and Furious' is a bit different when compared to my previous releases - this one is an out and out soppy love song! It didn't necessarily directly correlate with my life at the time but after all of the serious and ‘in your face’ songs I have written last year, it just seemed like a natural development. There’s only so much social commentary and angst you can take before you need a break! I explored more metaphoric lyric concepts but ultimately, when you listen to the track you can see it's pretty basic! The lyrics to the chorus of 'Fast and Furious' came to me when I was sitting in a hammock on a couple of rare days of hols in France, and there was a motorbike parked in front of me with 'Fast and Furious' written on it, so naturally I wrote a song about it that had a nothing to do with the bike!
I wrote this song in two parts, one of which was with an amazing London based artist called Russell Swallow. He was the main contributor to the final section of the song, the bit where it slows down and it is written to show the other side of the story. The classic and painfully imbalanced situation where one person is trying to push the relationship harder and faster, and the other person is just wanting to take it as it is, at a slower pace. But ultimately, the song is a bit of fun, soppy, and I simply love playing it live!’
