Camerano | Somebody Else

Camerano

Weaving clever musical hooks and rhythms with an effortlessly charming vocal delivery, CAMARANO's debut material bears the mark of prodigious talent. The first solo release from Perth engineer, writer and producer Mat Cammarano, the almost-eponymous project comes after years of Mat working behind the scenes with other artists.

Floating between indie pop and dreamy electronica while teaming up with rising Australian producer Andy Lawson, Mat has created an impressive handful of songs to form an EP that each show a slightly different side to CAMARANO while sharing a core identity. Each ingredient that makes up the EP is distinct and present in just in the right amount, and within minutes the magic of CAMARANO's spine-tingling sound is unmistakable.

Chosen as a feature track for its sense of wonderment and coastal sway, Somebody Else is the perfect single for summer. Slowly building into an ethereal crescendo, the sonic depth of Somebody Else grows with each iteration of its glorious chorus, like a wave slowly building as it works its way to shore. Within a few minutes, it spells out all that is magical about CAMARANO's spine-tingling sound.

Curating an impressive live band for the project, CAMARANO features Caleb Quartermaine, Matt Shehan, James Shehan and Brad Green. Bringing Mat's songs to life, this line-up also provides him with the ability to put together a formidable touring band, as his career continues to unfold. The starting point of all to come, Somebody Else (along with the EP slated for a 2018 release) is an offering of thoughtful, creative music, and a worthy introduction to one of Australia's most talented new musicians.
