Mugen, newcomers birthed out of Leeds’ thriving music scene, have already received support from Record of The Day and BBC Introducing. Further afield, Mugan have even been picked up by blogs in Australia. More recently, Mugen were flown out to Amsterdam to write at a camp as part of the Amsterdam Dance Event - no small feat for such a young band so early on in their career, and a clear indicator of their diversity and strength of songwriting.
The new single, ‘Come And Go’, is set for launch at 360 Club in Leeds on November 10th, where fellow Leeds up-and-comers Loux’s will also release a new track. Mugen will follow up the show with a live session at BBC Introducing West Yorkshire in Leeds on November 11th.
Recorded by Leeds based indie producers Jamie and Lee of Greenmount Studios ( Pulled Apart By Horses, Post War Glamour Girls, The Cribs ) and mastered by Pete Maher ( U2, Lana Del Rey, Jack White, The Rolling Stones ), this third offering from Mugen is a rougher, grungier take on Mugen’s truthfully unique brand of Indie Rock.
‘Come And Go’ also signals the halfway point in the band's first EP, with two more tracks to follow, including the final single from the EP ‘Going Down’ - set for release with a specially curated piece of content designed for Android and iPhone. Mugen are also set to head into the studio later this month to record their next EP.
Don’t sleep on Mugen, there is a lot more to come.
