South African born Samuel J. Lawrence is now living Brighton/UK and has just released his Debut single, 'Bitter Mind'.
A mix of folk to funk to rock, as with so much music now, the fusion is fresh and very appealing.
Samuel's main influences are the likes of Jeff Buckley, Nick Mulvy, Vulfpeck and Nina Simone to name a few.

‘Bitter Mind’ and it’s about my girlfriend.. she’s still a little offended by the title. I suppose the song is about our arguments and how bitter they can become, especially when there’s no filter on what we’re shouting at each other. Nevertheless, I would say that the song has a very positive outlook. One of the lyrics reads ‘I want to fall into your Bitter Mind’ which is the acknowledgment that you only argue when you care."
