I remember meeting Yvonne a few years back on an interview visit to Hawkesbury radio in Windsor, North West Sydney when on my Radio Tour. I love visiting all the community stations, when I am in Australia, tucked away in the suburbs, up flights of stairs in old building with those old elevators with the double door cage thing, old heritage government buildings and this one is in a cute little wooden and tin building located adjacent to the original station building and next to the historic Windsor Water Tank..
Yvonne Bartle presents her shows with her enormous sense of humour and lovely radio tone to her voice, she is an easy listen too, the rye humour and the great music she plays makes for an entertaining show loaded with personality.
Hawkesbury radio goes out at 89.9FM on the dial and serves the community in the region with a variety of specialist shows and locals news and broadcasts live non stop. The station is manned by volunteers who provide relevant content for the Hawkesbury area with sports, music and talk aimed at the local listeners. The shows can also be listened to streaming from anywhere in the world and I often tune in from New Zealand.
With a deep passion for independent music. Yvonne provides an outlet for independent music on her shows as well as major artists in a great listening mix, she’s good at debuting new music and takes pride in doing so.
“I love it when I can play a track before everyone else (most times I can) this is the only way I can have my dream about being in music, can't hold a note to save my life, but play good music. I love being silly at times until I remember my age.”
Being a very loyal person Yvonne has never moved from Hawkesbury Radio having been with the station for a dedicated 23 years.
“I have been no where else. I'm true blue to who gave me my first radio gig”.
Yvonne serves currently as the Program Director of Hawkesbury Radio and has 2 shows per week ‘A Country Corner - New -Used -Old - In between Country Music’ on Sundays from 6 to 9pm and ‘Tuesday’s Fling with Yvonne Bartle Wonder Woman’ Tuesdays 12-4pm where she plays a mix of genres & has a good time on her show.
