Mick Lindsay - A powerhouse set to imprint the music industry

Anyone with a sharp eye for talent has their sights firmly fixed on ‘Mick Lindsay’ – Keen instincts, distinctive vocals and high energy guitar wizardry make this singer/songwriter a powerhouse set to imprint the music industry.

Mick Lindsay`s working on a dream and he makes no apologies for that. He knows what he wants and his enthusiasm is contagious.

After the release of his first single, regular appearances on CMC and Australian Radio

quickly put him on the Aussie radar and before long Lindsay was playing at prestigious festivals and stadium gigs with Aussie legends, heating up mammoth crowds for the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, Jon Stevens, Ross Wilson, Frankie J Holden & Wilbur Wilde, Troy Cassar-Daley, Grinspoon, Thirsty Merc and more, and all to raucous standing ovations.

Mick has a professional maturity and profound natural ability to blend genres. Mick has

been astounding audiences nationwide with his refreshing brand of "country-fried rock”

which is fast becoming known as his signature style - a fresh unseen blend of country

rock/pop with his own funky grit thrown in.

Lindsay released his self-titled debut album in May 2014, which peaked at #3 in the

Australian iTunes country music charts, topped only by Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts.

With a thirst for hard-hitting, up-tempo numbers, he infuses every song with his own

distinctive flavour. His band is tight, and they display a vigour that will stand up to the most discerning music critics. This rough-and-tumble band is well seasoned and pours their heart and soul into every live set.

Live performance is the keystone of the Lindsay game plan. Mick says, “Performing is the big pay off! It`s always a rush to kick it with a crowd. It`s sublime! Watching the fans` energy hit that euphoria as they rock and sing-a-long – that`s total fulfilment”.

Live Shows

Mick Lindsay has toured extensively over the past 6 years, with performances throughout

Outback QLD, America, Dubai, Europe and Asia and there’s no slowing him down. 2015

has so far been Mick’s busiest yet, with debut appearances at the Tamworth Country

Music Festival, CMC ROcks QLD and the Big Red Bash alongside Jimmy Barnes in July, he

also performs at the Gympie Music Muster in August and has invitations to return to the

Mount Isa Rodeo in August and Birdsville Races in September.

President of the Dirt n Dust Festival, Stephen Malone said: “When it came to choosing a

musician to headline our 20th celebrations in 2014, Mick was a no-brainer. He has a

diverse musical repertoire and can shift effortlessly between country, rock and pop to get

the crowd dancing and keep them dancing.”

Debut Album

Touring and songwriting in Nashville over the last 6 years has seen this hell bent country rocker emerge with a series of original songs under his belt.

The response to Mick Lindsay’s self-titled debut album (released 21 May, 2014) was

phenomenal, with the album peaking at #3 in the Australian iTunes country music charts, topped only by Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts. “It took a few thousand gigs and a relentless touring schedule with many songwriting trips to Nashville, the passing of a few dozen harmonicas, 4 guitars and a few vehicles to create these 12 songs... and I wouldn't change it for the world.” Lindsay said.

“From the fusion between banjo and a screaming Les Paul being played together, to acoustic guitars and harmonica and even the occasional cowbell, this album was a lot of fun to create”.

The album was produced and recorded at Vibetone Recording Studio in the Noosa hinterland

town of Pomona, Queensland with one of Australia’s most influential musicians, Benjy Pocock.
