With vocals described as a mix between Halsey and Lorde, seventeen year old Caroline Romano has been making waves in the pop world recently, and just made quite a splash with her latest release “Me and You,” the first real love song the young starlet has ever written.
“When you’re only 17, it’s hard to write about love, because you most likely haven’t experienced it yet. This song is really special to me because it’s about how I see love impacted my world for the first time. It’s about how all of the little things become even more special, and how you feel like you are more yourself with that person than you are without them. I wrote this song in Nashville, and it only took a few hours to get it all on paper. I love the verses in this song, so it was easy to get in the vibe when you’re starting with the best part!” Caroline tells Music Talks exclusively.
Originally hailing from Mississippi, Romano now splits time between her home state and Nashville, TN aka Music City. Though she’s been singing her entire life, she originally started writing songs as a form of journaling. At 13, she convinced her parents to take her on a trip to Nashville and a simple open mic night changed her life - she knew music would hold an important role in her life and decided to pursue her dreams.
She made her debut into the music world with her song “Masterpiece,” which features pop sensation Jacob Whitesides. From there, she’s released a couple more songs, with her sound and content maturing with each release.
“I have to admit, as I get older, the music I write tends to get darker. I’m learning new things literally every day about love and life and what it’s like to be in the music industry. All of these new things influence my sound and the words I choose to express my feelings.”
As a young artist herself, the biggest advice Caroline would give someone else breaking into the industry is to be confident and never look back. It’s your confidence that allows you to be taken seriously. Put yourself and your passions first.
Having already shared the stage with superstars like Shawn Mendes, Kelsea Ballerini, Daya and Jacob Whitesides, the pop star is continuing to take the world by storm.
